Calm Chor (Chor Bizarre)

Calm Chor is the techno alias of Ashvin Mani Sharma, a pioneering figure in India’s underground electronic music scene with over two decades of experience. Beginning his journey in the mid-1990s, he first gained global recognition as a member of Jalebee Cartel before evolving into his solo project, Calm Chor.

In 2013, he co-founded Soupherb Records alongside Ash Roy, a label that has since become one of India’s most respected platforms for underground dance music, championing a distinct and homegrown sound across techno and minimal.

As a DJ and producer, Calm Chor is known for his hypnotic, groove-driven style and immersive sets that have taken him to major clubs and festivals worldwide, including performances across Europe, the US, and Asia. His releases, including the acclaimed EP Dancefloor Sci-Fi, have charted on Beatport’s global rankings, reinforcing his international presence.

Beyond his solo work, he continues to collaborate across projects such as Bit of Both and Sound Therapy, contributing consistently to the evolution of India’s electronic music ecosystem through performance, production, and curation.
